Ratings-2/5.

Pro-Good music.

Cons- Loose script and uninteresting screenplay

Plot-New English Teacher Rahul Prakash Udyavar (Shahid Kapoor) joins Swaraswati Vidya Mandir school and realizes that something is not very right in it. His assumptions come true when he realizes that School Manager- Sharma (Saurabh Shukla) treats the parents as money making machines. Rahul protests against this and also successfully unifies other teachers of the school and convinces them to fight for the cause.

The school management, too, is not ready to give up so soon. The student gets trapped in the fight of idealism vs commercialization and how they get themselves out of this mess is what forms crux of this movie.

General Reviews-Even though the story sounds great, the execution has been horrible. The movie spends much time in establishing the identity of various teachers in the school. The script is loose and does not keep you hooked. The treatment appears to be juvenile and has nothing new to offer. It appears dull and boring.

The actors have tried their best to perform in the roles that hardly does justice to their talent. The music of Paathshala is the only saving grace. Songs like Aye Khuda and Bekarar are soothing to the ears and exudes certain warmth.

Conclusion-Go for it if you want to be enlightened how educational system has become corrupted these days. Be prepared to be bored and don’t look forentertainment.
